The article presents a study on measuring DNA methylation at base pair resolution in the human genome, led by George Church and Jin Billy Li from Harvard University and Kun Zhang from the University of California. Researchers used DNA bisulfite conversion and genetic capture techniques and targeted their probes to selected genomic regions irrespectively of whether these regions are enriched in CpG dinucleotides. They noted that only 10% of the regions show a difference in methylation.
