- Title
Discussion: University reform in Finland.
- Authors
Sipilä, Jorma
- Abstract
The article discusses the university reform in Finland initiated by the European governments. It is said that to improve the quality of universities, the state must find how private money will be channelled to the universities or it has to reduce the size of the university system. It is also stated that the reform will open a new era for governance but cannot solve the problem of having a large and underfunded university system. It is also mentioned that reforming legal position of the universities and attaining structural improvements will not solve the problems of financing.
