- Authors
De Girolami Cheney, Liana
- Abstract
The article discusses the interpretation of antiquity by Sandro Botticelli in his mythological painting known as "Camilla/Minerva and the Centaur." It examines Botticelli's admiration of antiquity as depicted on his incorporation of antique motifs into active figures such as the figure of the Centaur in the said painting. It notes the comparison of the work "Trajan's Triumphs" with Botticelli's painting and how it showed the assimilation of antique as visual parallelism.
