- Abstract
The article features Japanese painter Ito Jakuchu who lived during the Edo Period. He can create the body of a crane through the use of single, flawless brush stroke. His love and admiration to nature enabled him to capture what seems to be the essence of life. He can perfectly paint a rooster and can give life and expression in a painting of a duck with its head buried under the water. Edo Period artists can capture the diverse sensations of lights within one painting.
