- Abstract
The essay considers the history of wind turbine engines in the U.S. and explores non-economic reasons for stakeholders to reject their erection and use. Subjects considered include potential bird deaths caused by wind turbines, aesthetic notions, rural-urban sociological differences, and resistance to adoption of new technology. Environmental and economic benefits of wind turbines as clean energy options are detailed.
