- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the gun manufacturing industry in Connecticut. It examines gunmaking during various wars including the Seven Years War, the American Revolution, and World War I. Various Connecticut gunmakers are considered, including Christopher Spencer, Oliver Winchester, and Samuel Colt. The author explores several gun models, discussing Sharps carbines, M14 automatic rifles, and AR-15 semi-automatic rifles. Gun production factories and government firearms contracting are also explored.
