The article analyzes literary theorist Geoffrey Hartman's views about the undead characters present in the poems of William Wordsworth. Topics discussed include Hartman's description of Wordsworth's style of focusing on the ethical meaning of life, Hartman's style of literary criticism embodied by political engagement through a negation of indifference to the world and Hartman's endorsing of a literary critic as someone who explores thoughts in a relational and loving way.
