- Abstract
To thoroughly assess the actual AC interference on the Yong-Tang-Qin (Yongqing- Tangshan-Qinhuangdao) Gas Transmission Pipeline and determine whether the grounding mitigation aligns with corrosion limits and safety standards, field tests and numerical simulations were conducted. These evaluations measured current density, corrosion rate, and other parameters at various points along the Yong-Tang-Qin Gas Transmission Pipeline. Additionally, the impacts of different interference factors on the pipeline's AC interference were analyzed. Utilizing the actual pipeline location distribution and parameters and data such as parameters of high-voltage transmission lines, an AC interference model was developed that accurately reflects on-site conditions. This model aimed to analyze the effects of high-voltage AC transmission lines on buried pipelines. The results show that the AC interference model corresponds well with the actual site observations, and effectively mirrors the pipeline's AC interference scenario. The AC interference levels throughout the pipeline remain within permissible limits, indicating a successful grounding process. This paper can serve as a guideline for future evaluations of the effectiveness of operating pipeline grounding systems and the design of AC interference ptotection for newly constructed pipelines.
