- Abstract
In a scenario pronounced by uncertainties, environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects are highlighted nationally and internationally, especially after the health crisis caused by Covid-19 (OLIVEIRA, 2021). The present study is a descriptive research that aims to verify the impact of Covid-19, corporate governance and sustainability on the financial and market performance of B3 firms. The data were grouped to make it possible to analyze whether the set of independent variables impact the dependent variable of each model based on the use of regression with panel data, with firms registered in B3 being surveyed, comprising a sample of 205 firms with 1,833 observations, these firms being selected for having the necessary information for the data analysis stage, in the years 2011 to 2020. It was found that the independent variables Covid-19, corporate governance and ISE positively influence financial and market performance. Already in relation to sectors, some influenced performance positively and others negatively. As limitations of this study, there are the number of indices used to analyze the performance of the firms, which were only two and the fact that the results can change according to the chosen indices, therefore, it is suggested for future research to add of new indices for analysis.
