- Authors
Heiss, Andrew
- Abstract
The article discusses the Egyptian revolution of 2011, also known as the Arab Spring. It examines the management of the Egyptian government by then-Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and the Egyptian National Democratic Party (NDP). It discusses the coalition of Egyptian opposition movements that began to coalesce in January 2011. The author argues that Mubarak's ouster from office was a result of his failure as a public manager. The article analyzes Mubarak's authoritarian presidential management strategies, and the structure of the NDP and Mubarak's relationship with it.
