- Abstract
The Riesz basis property of the generalized eigenvector systemof a Timoshenko beam with boundary feedback controls applied totwo ends is studied in this paper. The spectral propertyof the operator A determined by the closed loop system isinvestigated. It is shown that operator A has compactresolvent and generates a C0 semigroup, and its spectrumconsists of two branches and has two asymptotes under someconditions. Furthermore it is proved that the sequence of allgeneralized eigenvectors of the system principal operator formsa Riesz basis for the state Hilbert space.
