Think 'Peak Oil" Is a Discredited Idea?
- Authors
Klare, Michael T.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the peak oil theory, the once-popular notion of petroleum geologist M. King Hubbert in which worldwide oil production will decline after it reaches a maximum level. Topics include the report of the International Energy Agency (IEA) on the growth of American shale oil, the role of advanced production technology in prolonging the life of petroleum products, and the new theory called techno-dynamism wherein there will be no physical limit to the global supply of oil.
