- Abstract
The present study aims to evaluate Beykoz Science Festival, which is open to all participants and includes several student projects, in accordance with the participant views. The study has used mixed method which allows certain event or phenomenon to be well-understood through the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods states that the fact that mixed method combines quantitative data with qualitative data is more advantageous than either qualitative or quantitative methods separately. The present study uses triangulation design. The qualitative and quantitative data have been analysed separately the quantitative data has been gathered through the adaptation of participant evaluation questionnaire developed by Karakaş et al. (2017) for „Fun in Learning Science and Technology Festival." The questionnaire is made up of four dimensions. The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire (Cronbach's alpha) is calculated as 0,974. Science festival is perceived by the participants as projects, entertaining activities, interdisciplinary gathering and useful tool for daily life. It has been stated that the participants have perceived science festival properly in accordance with its aim. The study reveals that participants perceive TÜBİTAK as an innovator and professional organization which supports scientific studies respects different opinions and has unique studies. TÜBİTAK has been recognized as a scientific organization, supporter of science and developments, thereby showing that there is a positive perception about TÜBİTAK.
