- Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the knowledge level of inflammatory rheumatic diseases (RD) among the different stage educators. In this "Crosssectional study" the data were collected from the individuals using the selfassessment measurement tool. The universe of this research was the educators of primary school, high school, college and the University of the Uşak province of Turkey. The "Simple random sampling" method was used in the selection of the sample. The data were collected through two forms, the personal information form and the RD information level evaluation form. A total score range of 0-20 points was determined for each question correctly answered. Study was completed with the participation of 224 (61.2%) women and 142 (38.8%) male, 366 educators in total. The mean age of the participants was 41.6±17.8. Of the educators, 169 (46.2%) were in primary education, 88 (24.0%) were in high-school, and 109 (29.8%) were in college or university level. The average score of the participants was 14.3±2.6 (Minimum: 5 / Maximum: 19). There was no significant difference between the groups regarding mean scores when the participants were grouped according to their sex or education level (p>0.005). The number of educators who were educated about inflammatory rheumatic diseases was 51 (13.9%), and their total scores were statistically significantly higher than the untrained group (p<0.005). Increasing the knowledge level of the educators with the special programs will result in the training of more qualified students.
