- Abstract
Teachers are actively involved in the use of technology in education. For this reason, it is important for the pre-service teachers to acknowledge the technological tools in their learning process and to know how to use these tools in the learning-teaching process. The digital storytelling method, which is a new concept has become prominent over the past few years. This technique combines many cognitive and linguistic skills with visual and auditory elements and can be defined as a new technology used in all stages of the learning-teaching process. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the digital story creating experiences of pre-service teachers who participated in an environmental education workshop and to explore the opinions of digital storytelling technique as well as the problems they encountered in this process. For this purpose case study method, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. For data collection, a questionnaire consisting of five open-ended questions which were prepared by the researchers was used. The findings showed that pre-service teachers thought that digital storytelling method can be actively used in the learning-teaching process. moreover, they encountered technical problems, time problems and some difficulties during creating a digital story.
