The article offers information on the Risk, Needs, and Responsivity (RNR) model of criminal justice. It examines the use of violence assessment in the U.S. and how it can refine the use of this Risk Principle. In the year 2008, the Administrative Office of the United States Courts began to create a fourth-generation risk assessment tool for federal probation.
