- Abstract
The aim of the study was to present the case of a 65 year old woman with a final diagnosis of pulmonary embolism in relation to carbamazepime consumption. A 65 year old woman is admitted at the Emergency Room for mild progressive dyspnoea and very light right side thoracic pain, with a final diagnosis of pulmonary embolism that was possibly explained as a side effect of carbamazepime consumption as a treatment for trigeminal neuralgia. The absence of major risk factors and the tacit symptoms can leave this condition go undiagnosed, thus compromising the patients' lives.
