- Abstract
The article presents a case of a 68-year-old widow who was showing signs of Diogenes syndrome, which is defined as a severe self-neglect, social withdrawal, hoarding behavior, and lack of worries about one's living condition. She was a former nurse and her house was cluttered with syringes, medical supplies, expired drugs, and obsolete cosmetic products. She was eventually found to be showing clinical manifestation of undiagnosed Asperger's syndrome.
