- Abstract
An essay is presented on social rights and constitutional welfare system in the Soviet dictatorship within the Stalin and Brezhnev constitutions from 1936 to 1977 in the Soviet Union. It offers a history of social rights within state socialism and examines how the right to welfare became the language of communication between the state and its citizens. It also looks into the factors that shaped social rights and welfare in the socialist state.
