- Abstract
The article reports on the need for a paratechnical training in wet processing of the textile industries. It mentions that a recent letter to the Editor of Textile Chemist and Colorist by Steven P. Busa of the Gloversville Continental Mills Inc. had strengthened the idea that there is a need for technical education in all phases of the textile industry. In the letter, Busa voices a strong plea for a way to provide the textile industry with enough dyers that are educated. On the other hand, the American Association of Textile Chemists & Colorists (AATCC) Long Range Planning Committee presented a formal report in 1982 followed by recommendations to the AATCC Council. An AATCC national committee called Textile Paratechnical Education Committee was organized following the recommendations.
