El Paso Agrees To Beaunit Sale.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the announcement of El Paso Corp. to sell its Beaunit Corp. to a group represented by T. A. Associates in the U.S. The Houston, Texas-based company has agreed to sell Beaunit to an investment banking in Boston, Massachusetts in which, several members of Beunit's top management will become members of the purchasing group. These include Robert E. Smith, former chairman of the board of Beaunit, Roger G. White, president of Beaunit; and Stephen Timko, executive vice-president. Moreover, El Paso did disclose that the sale will result in one-time after-tax charges of some $54 million against the 1976 net income.
