- Abstract
The article discusses the way American graffiti was framed by the mass media sector in the U.S. According to some recent news columns on graffiti depicts that the mainstream perception of graffiti is vandalism and not an art persists. It further stresses that writers from various publications are still portrayed as criminals in the news media, and the positive portrayals of both the art form and the artists who bring it to life are few and far between. It cites one of the frames that was found most often portrays the practice as vandalism that in turn invites more vandalism.
