- Authors
Fusté, José I.
- Abstract
The article presents a comparative analysis of racial violence at the borders of the U.S. and Mexico as well as Israel and the Gaza Strip in order to examine how discourse related to racial discrimination plays a role in the rationalization of international conflicts. It overviews how U.S. involvement in Middle Eastern wars have been legitimized by ideas of racial superiority and explores how American views on Latina/o and Arab immigrants have been altered by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
