- Abstract
The article discusses the history and progress of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees' (UNHCR) policy on refugee women. Refugee women emerged as a global issue between 1980-1985. The global campaign on the protection of women was strengthened by the International Working Group on Refugee Women (IWGRW). Transnational advocates are expected to play a significant role in UNHCR and the protection of women refugees.
