Trainee matters updates from Ava and Ed.
- Abstract
The article provides updates on trainee matters in the field of psychiatry. The Trainee Advisory Committee (TAC) met to discuss various concerns, including the need for cultural competency and quality education for Māori and Indigenous Australian trainees, clearer communication about examination and assessment pathways, discussions about culture in medicine, and voting rights for trainees. The TAC provides advice to the Bi-national Committee for Trainees (BCT), which then makes recommendations to the Board. The article also mentions the development of a trainee engagement strategy and upcoming changes to the Clinical Competency Assessment (CCA) pathway.
