The article presents a reprint of the article "Ranibizumab Shows Continued Safety, Efficacy Over Longer-term Follow-up," by Jessical Loughery published in the January 10, 2008 issue of "Ocular Surgery News." It highlights the effects of intravitreal ranibizumab injections in treating patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD). It notes that long term application of ranibizumab injections showed a good efficacy profile, while the drug bevacizumab is effective in correcting visual acuity and central retinal thickness.
