- Abstract
The editorial of the magazine "Femina Politica" reflects the ambivalent impact of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, which will be 75 years old in spring 2024. Although the Basic Law has dismantled some forms of discrimination and granted more rights to vulnerable minorities, it has not automatically led to substantial equality or the dismantling of power structures. It also becomes clear that the Basic Law cannot protect against the rise of right-wing populist and extremist forces. The focus of the issue is on a feminist and critical examination of the Basic Law, with contributions on the role of the Federal Constitutional Court regarding abortion and sex work/prostitution.
