The article presents the response of Wolfgang Nentwig to comments about their study on plant pathogens as biological agents of the weed Cirsium arvense. He disagrees with the definition provided about inundative biocontrol as usage of already present, often cosmopolitan generalist microbial pathogens. He claims that study was restricted to Cirsium arvense.
