- Title
Understanding regionalism and the politics of identity in Ukraine's Eastern Borderlands.
- Authors
Rodgers, Peter
- Abstract
The article discusses the nation building project in Ukraine, which is complicated by regional and national identities. Research suggests that regional difference is not a transitionary situation and nation building is not a homogenizing and assimilating process. The social resistance to Europeanization stems from the older generation wanting to keep their cultural ties with Russia.
