The article discusses the "The Dreamlife of Angels," directed by Erick Zonca a film adapted from Paul Schrader's "Affliction" in 1998 and 1989 Russel Banks novel. The story chronicles the experience of two women in early 20s known as Isa (Elodie Bouchez) and Marie (Natacha Regnier) who live from the city of Lille in northeastern France. Both films carries on the naturalist tradition as they emphasize how their characters live of this emphasis on biological and environmental determinism. The story ends up with Marie jumping on the window while, Isa working in a factory
