- Abstract
The article presents information on the March 1985 issue of the journal "Qualitative Sociology." Several new features which will become regular components of the journal have been inaugurated by the author. The first is Elihu Gerson's column on advances in personal computers for qualitative researchers. The purpose of this ongoing column is to provide news about software, hardware, techniques, and literature, so that qualitative researchers can tap the potential of microcomputers for research purposes. The second innovation is a new section entitled "Reflections." The purpose of this section is to provide an opportunity for qualitative researchers to publish thoughts about their research experiences. This section will appear from time to time, rather than in every issue. The first contributor to "Reflections" is Jean Peneff, professor of sociology at the University of Nantes, France. In his essay, he comments on the relative advantages and disadvantages of making one's role as a sociologist known in politically charged research contexts.
