- Abstract
The article presents comprehensively different health problems of Eliza Orzeszkowa (1841-1910), a famous Polish writer. Her stays in Druskininkai, a charming health resort on the Niemen River, in the years 1872 to 1906 are described. Her relationships with Jan Pilecki, the head doctor of the health resort in Druskininkai, Eugenia Żmijewska, a writer and journalist, Henryk Nusbaum, a physician and philosopher of medicine, Maria Konopnicka, a poet, and others have been depicted.
