- Abstract
The article presents a case study of the settlement of South Asian people in East Africa, with a focus on their status as entrepreneurial minority according to colonial law. An historical overview of the contact of South Asians with East Africa is presented, as well as an analysis of the history of East Africa. Topic discussed include legal status of settlers, cultural relationship between settlers and natives, and rights of minorities in post-colonial East Africa.
