- Authors
Wosar, M. A.; Lewbart, G. A.
- Abstract
The article describes ileocolic intussusception in an adult female pine snake or the Pituophis melanoleucus. The study details the difficulty of resecting the lengthy gastrointestinal tract of a snake because of the linear nature of the snake's body. The study further indicated that the peculiar features of the snake can cause a limitation to the length of gastrointestinal tract that can be safely removed while giving a functional anastomosis.
