- Title
'So Much the Worse for the Whites': Dialectics of the Haitian Revolution.
- Authors
Ciccariello-Maher, George
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the book "Hegel, Haiti, and Universal History" by Susan Buck-Morss is presented. It examines the connections between history, inequality, social conflict, and human emancipation. It focuses on the intersection of Haiti, and dialectical thought. It provides a fundamental reinterpretation of Hegel's master-slave dialectic and points to a way forward to free critical theoretical practice from the prison-house of its own debates.
