- Abstract
The article reports on the ruling of the 11-year imprisonment of activist Liu Xiaobo of China on December 23, 2009. Liu was judged of committing "inciting subversion of political power" due to his leadership of the Charter 08 constitutional reform movement in December 8. It cites that the court's decision is quite abrasive and hereby poses human rights controversies and neglect of freedom. It also mentions other violation of human rights such as prohibiting Liu's wife from watching the trial.
