Learning Maths through understanding.
- Abstract
The article highlights the proposals by a task force which was formed by Engineers Ireland to enhance the education curricula and teaching instructions in mathematics and science. The task force has identified a need to have a more holistic approach using the Project Maths model introduced by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA). According to the article, the science subjects should be required at Junior Certificate level. Also emphasized is the importance to provide incentives to teachers to improve teaching.
