- Abstract
This article discusses the results of a research study conducted to determine the prevalence of dental caries and the types of carious lesions common in the molar teeth of cotton rats. The rat subjects were fed a diet high in sucrose in order to promote the production of dental caries. The researchers note that cotton rats appear to exhibit a high susceptibility to dental caries.
