- Abstract
Chronic and relapsing diarrhoea is a common complaint which occurs in elderly people with particular frequency. In the case presented, we describe the history of a 73-year-old woman with an aortic aneurysm as a cause of ischaemic enteritis. We would like to show that particular note should be taken of such patients because banal chronic diarrhoea can be the first symptom of a life-threatening disease, such as aortic aneurysm.
