- Abstract
Education in Costa Rica is a fundamental aspect. In fact, this is one of the countries with the lowest illiteracy rate in the region. Actually, for 2016, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration estimated that only 3.2% of the population could not read or write. Much has been invested in education and options are created to provide greater and better access to it. Night education is one of these alternatives that seeks to reduce social gaps, thereby achieving an improvement in the quality of life of the Costa Rican population. Although night education is seen as an excellent option for many people, neither this nor the students who use it are free of social and economic problems. The reality of night education in the Central Pacific region is full of myths and for many people it is a true mystery, that's the reason why this investigation aims to reveal the most relevant aspects of the population that attends the night academic schools and the night sections of the technical high schools of 7 institutions located in different communities of the region. The idea is to know the problems and difficulties that afflict the students, their needs, challenges and aspirations.
