- Abstract
Objective: Determination of the prevalence of radical nephroureterectomy in upper urinary tract tumor. Methods: An observational, retrospective, descriptive cross-sectional, opened, study was performed. The research variables were: age, sex, predominant symptomatology, clinical stage of disease, the disease according to the extension of tumor, spread to lymph nodes, and metastasis, presence of concomitant bladder tumor, surgical approach, type of bladder cuff, location of the tumor, transoperatory bleeding, intraoperatory complications, tumor stage, grade and post operatory complications, descriptive statistics were used for data processing. Results: 14 patients with urothelial carcinoma of upper urinary tract were treated, with an age range from 40 to 79 years. 80% had hematuria, predominant clinical stage were T2 (57.1%) and T3 (42.9%) at this stage, management was surgical with radical nephroureterectomy technique, the location of the tumor was (85.7%) in renal pelvis, 50% of the patients did not use blood, the most common comorbidity was the systemic arterial hypertension (35.7%), the average hospital stay was 7 days. Conclusions: The surgical approach most used in these patients was the Laparoscopic Radical Nephroureterectomy with open bladder cuff.
