The article focuses on the canvas and carving works which represents the various entities of the universe in the Māori knowledge. Topics discussed include the aspects of the Ipurangi which is set to create three-dimensional star map, the sculpture of Scorpius which serves as the snapshot of a constellation in time, and the use of recycled glass, ceramic base, and light emitting diode (LED) lights in making the star map.
