- Abstract
The article discusses the need of teaching group process approach in science teacher-training institutions in the United States. The group approach inculcates a sense that people should collectively participate in decision making that affect them individually and collectively. It creates an obligation towards science educators to put emphasis on the social significance of science. Only by using the techniques of working together, the science teachers can help in realizing the democratic way of life. In this way science education would contribute in promoting participation in democracy.
