- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses the city of Sfax in Tunisia and its relationship with sub-Saharan African migration. The city, despite being a port, lacks a visible presence of the sea due to industrial structures and a perimeter fence blocking access to the port. Sfax has become a focal point for sub-Saharan African migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean, with many dying along the Tunisian coast. The article highlights the experiences of migrants in Sfax, their preparations for departure, and the challenges they face. The city has also experienced anti-migrant violence, leading to evictions and increased police presence.
