- Title

- Authors
FOLEY, MICHAEL P.
- Abstract
An essay on inscription of patriarchal ideology in motion pictures of filmmaker and author Whit Stillman is presented. Topics discussed include Stillman's film "Metropolitan," which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay; ways in which fathers only appear as usually wistful subjects of conversation in Stillman's movies; and Stillman's filmography on possible damage caused by an absence of patriarchy on family members and society.
