- Abstract
Cases of losing babies often occur in hospitals/maternity, where the perpetrators often disguise themselves as medical personnel. This happens because the safety of babies in the hospital/maternity is not maximized, so it is necessary to create a system that can prevent this abduction from happening. The baby incubator door security system has been designed using a solenoid as a locking medium and a web camera to detect and recognize faces that want to access/open the baby incubator door using the OpenCV library with the Local Binary Pattern Histogram and the Haar Cascade Classifier. The test results show that the baby incubator security system is able to detect and recognize the user's face based on the face database that has been stored in the system. The door of the baby incubator will open if the user's face is registered in the system. This prototype baby incubator safety system with facial recognition is a solution to prevent kidnapping/losing or swapping babies in the hospital/maternity.
