- Authors

- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 16 year old, Ashley, with type 1 diabetes whose blood sugar levels were difficult to stabilize at home and in the school setting. One day Ashley experienced severe symptoms of hypoglycemia but was told by a substitute teacher she could not go to the school nurse or take a glucose tablet. She was later found to have a dangerously low blood sugar of 17mg/dl. Ashley's parents sued the school district under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
