- Title
MULTIVARIATE APPROACHES TO A LIMESTONE GRASSLAND COMMUNITY: A DIRECT SPECIES ORDINATION.
- Authors
Gittins, R.
- Abstract
The article details the application of an ordination technique resulting in an ordination of stands in a study of a limestone grassland community. The orgination technique was developed by Bray & Curtis. The technique is used as an R-technique and to obtain a direct ordination of species. The study found that the distance between points representing species in the ordination is inversely proportional to the overall ecological similarity of the species. Phleum bertolonii and Helianthemum chamaecistus were used as reference species for the X axis while Trifolium repens and Centaurea nigra were used as Y axis reference species.
