- Authors

- Abstract
The article describes the plant communities in manda valleys in Tanganyika. A manda valley refers to a part of a certain valley in which manda or umanda, a name of a local soil, appears. Analysis reveals that several different associations of plant species occur within the plant communities as shown in the inconsistent tree cover all along the manda. Some of the plant species which occurred regularly in the area under investigation, include Brachystegia boehmii, Combretum ternifolium and the woodland species Pterocarpus angolensis.
