Anomalously large variations in the electrical properties of [N(CH[sub 3])[sub 4]][sub 2]CuBr[sub 4] crystals manifested by the disappearance of the spontaneous polarization (ferroelectricity) under the action of small uniaxial mechanical stresses. The observed effect is reversible and nonlinear.
